- June 22nd, 2023 Clean Environment Commission Report on the Vivian Sand Extraction Project is released.
- June 19th, 2023 Attached: Minutes of the Special Council Meeting as written by the CAO.
- June 19, 2023 CAO locks the doors. Councillors Miller and Kuczynski, meet with the approximately 90 people outside stating that they support public input and attendance. 3 RCMP vehicles and Springfield Police are on site. No warnings given, no arrests.
- June 16, 2023 Mayor calls Special Meeting for Monday at 1 p.m. stating that the council chambers would be closed to the public and the press.
- June 13, 2023 At Special Meeting: Mayor reneges on promise to have any further public input and looses control of the meeting when the full council chambers insist on being heard. 911 call to police because one resident called the Mayor a liar. Two members remain in the Council Chambers (one via zoom) others leave until the police arrive. Police showed no evidence of concern about the public’s behavior. Mayor shuts down the meeting.
- June 9, 2023 Mayor calls Special Meeting for a Tuesday at 6 p.m. Agenda includes resolution to amend by-law and Development Agreement for Sio Silica
- June 6, 2023 Development Agreement with Sio Silica and resolution to amend by-law proposed by CAO; Process challenged by public. 2 councillors agree and the Mayor promises to allow public hearing before signing
- March, 8 2023 Municipal Board Decision and Order to amend Springfield Zoning By-law for Sio Silica Processing Plant
- Feb. 27 to Mar. 15, 2023 Clean Environment Commission Hearings for Sio Silica mining
- October 2022 Mun. Board Hearings on Zoning By-law amendment for Sio Silica Processing Plant
